Although visible from Salem, Jason Eatherly’s mural is painted upon a old Franklin Street facing hotel. Close to Worcester’s Union Station, railroad visitors could enjoy the comfort of the New Park Hotel at the start of the 20th century. Later, as automobiles transformed travel and downtown lost its dynamism, the once fashionable destination faded into a mostly single room residence hotel that eventually was shuttered due to bankruptcy.
