Lucas Aoki's Mural: Lucas Aoki is a muralist from Argentina whose work features soft textures and surrealist imagery. Aoki says he draws his inspiration from friends and family, traveling, fresh air, and foods. ~ Source: POW! WOW! Worcester ~ Date: 2017Girl: Joe Iurato, from NJ, is a multidisciplinary artist whose style heavily relies on stencil-work and aerosols, delivering clean lines and three-dimensionality. A lot of his work features his children. In addition to murals, Iurato has also been playing with photographing painted woodcuts to give his artwork interactions and mobility within their chosen environments, and has worked as a commerical artist for very respectabe clients like the NBA, Hershey's, the USA Network, and more. ~ Source: POW! Nature is a common theme between his sculptures and his murals, often playing with the idea that elements of nature often collide with urban environments.
Konecki has descirbed this mural as "An adolescent character seated in a pile of books absorbing knowledge, growing and imagining the possibilities of this world" and hopes that it could encourage the students to pick up a book themselves. ~ Source: POW!
