Murals at the Canterbury Street Computer-Based Magnet School

Originally established to serve the families of recent immigrants to the city, who settled among the factories bordering the railroad line running parallel to Canterbury Street, the school has served working families for more than a century. Over time, the ethnicities of these families have changed with successive waves of first European and later Latino new arrivals. In 1987, with the two original school buildings in bad disrepair, Worcester built the new Canterbury Street Computer-Based School. The building was mostly a brick monolith with a limited number of small windows, making it a perfect candidate for a POW! WOW! make over.
